Hello! I hope this note finds you well. However you happened on this site, my hope is that you’d find it helpful and that you’d be encouraged to trust and treasure Jesus in all of life.
My name is Ben. The most important thing about me is that Jesus rescued me, and my aim in life is to magnify him and to help others to do the same.
My wife Kayla and I have eight beautiful children. They fill our lives with joy and noise and messes and laughter and we wouldn’t change a bit of it (most days).
I went to the University of Georgia and received undergraduate and graduate degrees in business before God called me into vocational ministry. After college I worked in commercial real estate while pursuing an MDiv from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
In February of 2014, our family moved to Brattleboro, Vermont to make disciples of Jesus. You can read more about our story here. By God’s grace, he’s been building Rivertown Church since, where I have the privilege of serving as Lead Pastor.
I still work bi-vocationally in commercial real estate, love Georgia football and Atlanta sports (as painful as it can be), and if love languages are a thing, coffee and books are two of mine.
So why Living in Between? As followers of Jesus, that’s our location. We’re living in between what Christ has already done and what he’s promised to do. It’s a hope-filled place, and it’s also laden with suffering and difficulty and challenges and filled with a longing for heaven and seeing Jesus face to face.
We’re living in between Christ’s first coming and his second. We’re traversing the road between Eden and the City of God. This blog is for helping to pave highways to Zion in the hearts of Christ’s pilgrims. For pastors and parents and everyone else in the church of Jesus who are seeking to be faithful while longing for home.
My hope is that these posts would help fuel our love for Jesus, our faith in his gospel, and our faithfulness in doing all he’s called us to as we live between what he’s done and will do.
